Laser eye institute is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician (COA/COT) Near Troy, MI

Laser Eye Institute is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals. As Michigan's largest laser vision correction center, we are committed to providing exceptional eye care and the latest technology to our patients. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care by performing various diagnostic tests and assisting the physicians during eye exams and surgical procedures. If you are a skilled technician with a passion for eye care and a desire to advance your career in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and thorough diagnostic tests
  • Assist the physicians in various procedures
  • Take patient histories and document all findings accurately in electronic medical records system
  • Provide patient education on preoperative and postoperative instructions, including medication use and restrictions
  • Maintain and clean ophthalmic equipment and instruments
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of ophthalmic supplies
Requirements
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ophthalmic technician
  • Experience with LASIK or other refractive surgeries preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and medications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with physicians and clinical staff
