Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. As a Collection Agent, you will be responsible for contacting individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to negotiate payment arrangements, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

- Contact individuals and businesses to collect outstanding debts

- Negotiate payment arrangements and develop repayment plans

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities

- Utilize accounting software to track payments and update customer accounts

- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

- Apply knowledge of financial concepts, debits, and credits to effectively manage accounts

- Provide exceptional customer service while handling sensitive financial matters

- Utilize telemarketing techniques to reach out to debtors and resolve outstanding balances

- Collaborate with internal teams, such as billing and sales, to address any billing discrepancies

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in collections or a related field is preferred

- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to effectively communicate payment options

- Proficient in using accounting software and performing account reconciliations

- Knowledge of financial concepts, including debits and credits

- Familiarity with telemarketing techniques for debt collection purposes

- Understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
