Inter-Coastal Electronics, LLC is Hiring a Production Manager Near Mesa, AZ

Summary:

Responsible for the overall performance of Production areas; Production Floor and Machine Shop. Manages, works side by side with, and provides technical guidance and/or work direction to technicians and machinists. Establishes and coordinates workflow through a variety of responsibilities. Coordinates and ensures the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between or within departments. Documentation of activities required. Coaches/ mentors personnel regarding professional development and career advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities/Skills:

* Creates, implements, enforces, and maintains operations, personnel, quality policies and procedures in the areas of responsibility.

* Highly organized to assist in the creation of production schedules, oversee production processes and ensure that the required materials are selected and purchased in a manner that supports the required schedules.

* Provides feedback during design phase of new products to assist in design for cost-effective manufacturing and to apply lessons-learned from existing product experience.

* Assists the Manufacturing Engineer in the development and design of workplace layout using lean manufacturing techniques, tooling, fixtures, and work cells.

* Assists the Manufacturing Engineer in the development of labor standards, and measures technician performance against labor standards.

* Measures variances to quality and labor standards, identifies out-of-control variances, investigates reasons, suggests solutions, installs, and follows up.

* Stays up to date on manufacturing trends of technology. Investigates and installs the most effective methods of manufacturing to always maintain the company’s competitive edge; based on approved budgetary constraints.

* Keeps track of all manufacturing continuous improvement actions and changes reducing cost of production and strives for efficiency and quality improvements.

* Develops management information systems for planning and control purposes.

* Ensures production documentation is complete and accurate.

* Ensures team cohesion and performance through superior communication and leadership skills. Teams to include all subordinates and across functional areas. This is a critical responsibility.

* Manages technicians, including ensuring production schedules are met. Setting critical goals, conducting mid-year and year-end performance reviews, coaching, and training.

* Coordinates area throughput and tracks for program and contractual requirements.

* Ensures and enforces all corporate policies and standards are met.

* Creates labor proposals based on labor standards, along with basis of estimates.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

* 5 years of production supervisory/management experience in a high mix, low volume environment.

* Some college plus 7 years of experience in the field may substitute for Bachelor’s degree.

* Experience with mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, wiring/cable assembly, and IPC-610/620 practices required.

* Ability to oversee several disciplines at a time.

* Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

* Successful leadership and management of mid-size teams required.

* Experience with Lean/Six Sigma preferred.

* Experience with AS9100 and internal compliance and auditing highly preferred.

* ERP/MRP experience highly preferred.

* Must be above average in reading and interpreting electro-mechanical drawings.

* Must excel at team building and communications as a leader.

* Ability to obtain security clearance at Secret level required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $119,267.00 per year
