Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Microbiology Technician to join our pharmaceutical laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting microbiological tests and analyses on pharmaceutical products, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, label, and prepare pharmaceutical samples for microbiological analysis.
• Prepare media, reagents, and solutions necessary for testing pharmaceutical products.
• Perform microbiological tests such as bacterial cultures, identification, and enumeration specifically on pharmaceutical samples.
• Conduct tests for pathogens and indicator organisms in raw materials, in-process materials, and finished pharmaceutical products.
• Accurately record and maintain detailed records of test results and observations in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Prepare and present detailed reports of findings to the Microbiology Lab Manager/Supervisor.
• Ensure all tests are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines set forth by agencies such as the FDA and EMA.
• Participate in quality control and proficiency testing programs to ensure consistency and reliability of results.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment adhering to all pharmaceutical industry safety protocols.
• Sterilize laboratory equipment and properly dispose of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including autoclaves, incubators, and microscopes, ensuring they meet pharmaceutical industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
• Previous laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical environment, particularly in microbiology, is preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols specific to pharmaceutical testing.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software relevant to pharmaceutical microbiology.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
