Overview:
We are looking for someone to bake sweets at our small, locally owned bakery in the heart of Downtown Bend.

A day in the life: You’ll start your morning at 3:30am (yes, 3:30am!) and get all of our baked goods out by the time we open at 7am. Most days you'll start your shift on your own, and our bread baker will be in 1-2hrs later. After 7am, you’ll continue to prep/clean until dough time (8/9am), where you’ll join others at the kneading table and help cut/knead our bread. Most mornings, you'll be finished by 10:30am or earlier.

Our sweets lineup: cinnamon rolls, breakfast rolls, scones, cookies, sweet breads, muffins, glutenx breads/cookies, savannah bars, seasonal products, etc.

Details:
Start Date: beginning of June
Pay: Approx $21.00/hr ($17/hour plus an ave. of $4.00/hour in tips). We will provide training - a one month evaluation will be conducted to ensure you’re on track and we all feel it’s a good fit. Full-time benefits paid for after three months, PTO.

Schedule: work approx five days/week (Monday through Friday)
**Must be over 18, plan on staying at least a year and have reliable transportation**

Qualifications and Expectations: Looking for someone positive, reliable, and respectful. Must have good attention to detail, follow proper safety standards, and be able to work both alone and with a team. While your primary job is a singular role, our manager and other team members help when possible. Communication is key!

I would absolutely love someone who can come into work with a positive outlook despite what curveballs are thrown in life (either in or out of the job). This job also requires you prep and plan ahead - there is always something to do, even if it doesn’t appear that way...

Must have the ability to:

• Weigh and measure ingredients properly - basic math skills are needed
• Follow recipes and understand batch sizing
• Provide quality control and product consistency
• Safely operate heavy machinery and equipment, safely lift 50 pounds
• Ensure all baked goods are completed on time, complete checklists and bake schedule
• Communicate when ingredients are running low
• Multi-task, stay organized and clean as you work
• Help knead bread during dough time, ensuring bread is kneaded properly/on time
• Determine predictions (how much to bake every day), checking and filling orders
• Continue to keep dry mixes, dog treats, etc. fully stocked up front
• Communicate ways other team members can help if needed and train others when necessary
• Flexibility and adaptability are a must - we measure out most dry/wet ingredients the day before, but may get special orders at the last minute and it’s imperative to adapt/communicate
