Goodville Mutual Casualty Co is Hiring a Product Owner I Near Holland, PA

Description

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing a backlog, supporting delivery teams, and approving changes before they are deployed. This position will focus on how to develop products that support the corporate vision and deliver an outstanding user experience. Working with the Product Managers and business stakeholders, this position will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing backlog items which deliver the most business value based on known information.

Functions:

  • Work with Product Managers and business stakeholders to create and manage a product backlog, making strategic adjustments as needed based on evolving corporate priorities and the availability of resources and technology.
  • Work with the project managers, development team, scrum master, business analysts, user experience architects, user acceptance testers and quality assurance teams to ensure successful delivery of quality products. 
  • Participate in scrum meetings including but not limited to:
  • Daily Stand ups
  • Sprint reviews
  • Sprint planning sessions
  • Sprint retrospectives
  • Backlog refinement and grooming sessions
  • Product demonstrations
  • Work with Product Managers and business stakeholders to gather required details. 
  • Own and maintain the product backlog and is accountable for its contents, prioritization, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create clear, actionable user stories and documentation based on the product roadmap.
  • Understand regulatory, compliance and other industry requirements and prioritizes projects accordingly. 
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and training prior to roll out. 
  • Participate in the evaluation process and serve as a resource for Production Support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education preferred.
  • One to three years’ experience in business and/or project delivery preferred; or relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to understand business and IT issues and communicate priorities required.
  • Experience in or ability to learn Agile and Scrum principles required.
  • Experience with project tracking software such as JIRA required.
  • Proficiency in coordinating interdepartmental and cross-functional projects required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to build relationships and interact professionally with individuals at all levels internally and externally required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail required.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, travel to all organization offices (including in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota) and travel to vendor work sites required.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise level, remain in a stationary position and operate a computer a majority of the time required.
  • Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials and to move work materials weighing up to ten pounds daily required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation required.
