We are looking for team members who are level-headed in all situations, cooperative with fellow team members, and enthusiastic about working with children and young adults in an active indoor/outdoor camp environment.

Experience with children is preferred. Come work with our campers at Camp Edey in Bayport, NY. We offer programs for girls ages 5-15, in the summer of 2024, including a sleepaway camp experience.

Summer Camp 2024

Camp Edey is located on 95 acres on the beautiful San Souci lakes in Bayport and has been home to amazing Girl Scout outdoor experiences for over 75 years. Our camp has two pools, an archery range, a gaga ball pit, a disc golf course, hiking trails, and a frog-friendly pond. Our summer camp program includes things our girls love-like scavenger hunts, outdoor sports, unique weekly themes, and STEM Art activities in a safe and fun environment that fosters her sense of adventure.

• Dates: July 1-August 30, 2024, 9 Weekly Sessions (Week 1 is 4-days only due to Independence Day)
• Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Our camp serves girls entering in grades 1-9 in Fall 2024

Job Description

Camp Resident Assistant (RA) The RA will be the main point of contact for our international camp counselors, so the impression of our camp with our visiting staff depends on your friendliness, dependability, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a smart and trustworthy individual able to provide warm greetings and handle all incoming requests. The goal is to contribute to an overall pleasant experience to increase Camp Edey's reputation and ensure sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of reference for the international camp counselors who need assistance or information and attend to their requests.
• Understand the international camp counselors' needs and provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities near the camp.
• Acquire extensive knowledge of Camp Edey and nearby venues and businesses to make the most suitable recommendations.
• Arrange all logistics for excursions upon request from international camp counselors including scheduling, transportation, etc.
• Drive camp vehicles to transport counselors to local destinations.
• Respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution and provide concise, written reports to the Camp Director of all complaints.

Requirements and skills

• Experience in customer service or relevant role is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Polite and confident with a great deal of patience.
• Ability in multitasking and time-management.
• Aptitude in resolving issues with a customer-focused orientation.
• Current NYS Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
• Minimum age: 21 years old.

Schedule: M-F/ 5:00 - 9:00 pm; Saturday 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Dates: July 1 - August 30, with one training session TBD.

Salary: $18 per hour
