Job Title: Janitor
Department: Purchasing
Reports to: Purchasing Agent
Job Summary:
Disinfect and sanitize all common high touch areas twice a day. This includes all high touch surfaces in the Plant Breakroom, Plant Bathrooms, Main Plant area, Plant Supervisor’s offices, Main office, and HR.
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Keeping areas maintained and in good condition
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting
• Wiping down and sanitizing surfaces
• Empty trash and recycling bins
• Clean, sanitize, and stock bathrooms
• Maintain cleaning supply inventory
• Organize janitorial storage areas
• Maintain outdoor grounds by removing unwanted debris around the tool room
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Follow safety procedures and comply with policies
• Notify the Supervisor about unsafe conditions or concerning need for repairs or maintenance

Education and Experience:

• Experience in carpentry, mold building set up preferred
• Knowledge of the use of hand tools
• Be creative, eager to learn, and have a good work ethic
• Must be safety conscious
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Gate standards as needed
• Willingness and ability to work as a team player
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required

• Works well when supervisors are not present
• Able to work safely with a variety of tools and cleaning supplies
• Ability to follow schedules and keep commitments
• Ability to follow directions from Supervisor and Tool Room Attendant (Black Hat)
• Proficient in computers is preferred

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, and walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as laced-up ankle steel toe ankle work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
