JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Middle Office Analyst position will have a primary role in the broader Onboarding and Middle Office functions as relates to ensuring data integrity for front office and trading desks. Secondary focus is given to the Billing process in order to collect fees from various broker dealer counterparts. The role involves extensive interaction with the network of broker dealers as well as multiple internal departments. Integration and cross-training with the other Middle Office staff and support for the Securities Financing trading desk are also critical aspects of the position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead to implement and set up program around Lender specific auctions by accurately lotting programs and working with broker dealer community to ensure all operational components are addressed before program start.
  • Coordinate with Front Offices and broker dealers for the onboarding of new relationships
  • Monitor and report on all dividend trades to ensure fee calculations and billing are accurate; handle high volume of trades to seasonal trading strategies.
  • Daily review of the automated reconciliations with broker dealers through market data vendors; work with trading desk and other internal departments to resolve all variances.
  • Handle all requests from Client Relations, Securities Financing trading desk and other departments on intrinsic fee and rebate issues and create ad hoc reports for senior management.
  • Cross train with other Middle Office staff to increase knowledge base as well as provide full level of support.
  • Meeting monthly deadlines with regards to issuance and collection of fees
  • Focus on transitioning the process to external vendor to enable automation of the process

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA preferred; preferably in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field.
  • At least two (2-3) years related financial services work experience.
  • Candidates must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects; and possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates should be proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Previous experience and/or proficiency in financial markets. Advanced Excel skills are desirable.
