The Golf Course Groundskeeper reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent. Under the Golf Course Superintendents supervision, the Golf Course Groundskeeper participates in maintaining the golf course trees, greens, fairways, cart paths and related property, buildings and equipment. Golf course work being seasonal in nature and very weather and player dependent requires a non-traditional workweek. A regular routine of weekend work as well as early morning or evening work should be expected.
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all?inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Desirable Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of the proper techniques and maintenance of fairways, greens and tees and other landscape or turfgrass areas. Including irrigation, fertilizer and fungicide needs and their application. Ability to operate and maintain a variety of golf course equipment and buildings. Ability to prioritize work and interact effectively with staff, golfers and the general public.
Training and Experience:
Graduation from high school. The desire and ability to obtain and maintain a Wisconsin Pesticide Applicators License within one year of accepting this position.
