**Summary:** Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:** Other duties may be assigned.

* Drives truck to destination.

* Assists customers in material unload and checks material to the customer's satisfaction.

* Double checks the load before delivering the products. Checks with dispatch before altering any delivery routes to ensure customer expectations.

* Notifies the receiving manager of any returns, puts paperwork in the proper tray and stages material in the correct return area. Marks all boxes/skid with the customer name, date of pickup, and any other information available.

* Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. All log information must be calculated and turned in daily along with all safety and pre-trip checklists.

* Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions. Ensures deliveries are routed to meet customer expectations.

* Loads and unloads truck. Ensures all delivery tickets are accounted for and salesperson notified of customer changes.

* Inspects truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Reports all safety issues of the truck. Maintains a neat and clean vehicle.

* Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

* Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

* Completes and turns in the Daily Driver Manifest

* Works in shipping and receiving when driving duties are not needed

* Reports to work on a regular and timely basis

**Education and/or Experience:** High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Language Skills:** Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

**Mathematical Skills:** Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

**Computer Skills:** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Eclipse Accounting software and Eclipse Inventory software.

**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:** Class A or B Commercial Driver's License, Department of Transportation Medical Certificate

**Other Qualifications:** Must be able to travel 90% of the time.
