Durst Image Technology US is Hiring an Applications Specialist Near Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary 

You will be tasked with providing knowledge and expertise in the usage of Durst Tau Digital Printers, Durst Workflow Front End Software and associated Servers, Advanced Application Software Support, and become a product specialist to Durst Customers in North America. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide level three customer-critical customer support, installation and product beta support & roll out, working jointly with multiple Durst teams to quickly resolve complex mission critical issues within a stringent time frame. 

  • Resolve these critical customer issues, ranging from down equipment to knowledge gaps. 

  • Continued development and learning of the new technologies and constantly changing procedures of the job, while maintaining a backlog of previous procedures and technologies. 

  • Responsible for instruction, content and presentation of customer training and/or employee training. 

  • Become proficient in operating and demonstrating all assigned Durst printers with expectation to back fill for team members. 

  • With training, be responsible for developing and delivering operator training for all assigned Durst label printing equipment including appropriate associated peripheral equipment utilizing within the applications team. 

  • Continuous equipment education to gain an excellent working knowledge of Durst equipment (software/hardware). 

  • Provide Sales Team support for demonstrations and/or “best in class” samples for potential sales opportunities. 

  • Subject matter expert in color profiling, media applications and Ink applications. Provide support to internal and external customers. 

  • Become a subject matter expert in assigned Durst Workflow production software. Provide support to internal and external customers. 

  • Assure the quality and timeliness of samples, demonstrations and training provided in support of sales or service team. 

  • Provide advice and direction to customer regarding printing environment conditions required for optimal performance. 

  • Maintain knowledge of graphic elements, size/arrangement, color management, photo manipulation, application of various film or media/ have work experience in techniques to assist in establishing workflow through equipment to maximize usage and world class quality output. 

  • Maintain professional image in the Durst US training, demonstration centers and customer locations. 

  • Complete all job-related administrative aspects (reports, time/expense reporting, etc.) on time and error free. 

Travel Requirements 

Travel is required for training, onsite service calls, and tradeshows throughout North America and ranges from 80-90% overnight stays. Travel to Europe for training may be necessary and the ability to maintain a US passport is required for employment at Durst. A non-restricted driver license is a requirement for continued employment at Durst. 

Job Qualifications 

  • In-depth understanding of digital imaging technology and workflow 

  • Strong working knowledge of Digital Front End Software, e.g. Esko 

  • Willingness and experience for extensive travel demands (up to 80%) 

  • “Customer First” attitude 

  • Proficient in all aspects of computer operation 

  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills 

  • Collaborative approach, interacts well with team members and customers 

  • Strong attention to detail and concern for quality 

  • Strong planning and organizing skills 

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds; e.g. move sample media material.
