Homeownership Specialist

We are looking for a Homeownership Specialist to join our team!
Downstreet is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Homeownership Specialist to coordinate and implement our homeownership counseling programs. This person will help low- and middle-income homebuyers achieve their dream of homeownership in Central Vermont.
Key Responsibilities
Manage calls and inquiries from customers inquiring into homeownership services.
Perform client intake with customers; provide one-on-one pre-purchase counseling services to include follow up, client file notes and file closeout.
Manage homebuyer education workshops, both in person and through eHome America.
Provide foreclosure counseling as needed, meet with clients, assist clients in completing loss mitigation documents, and conduct outreach to loan servicer as needed.
Process Shared Equity Applications for eligibility and manage new purchases and resales of our current Shared Equity portfolio from initial application through purchase closing.
Provide ongoing support to Shared Equity homeowners to include monthly and annual communication.
Obtain and maintain certifications as required to include but not limited to HUD Certification and NeighborWorks NCHEC Certifications.
Build and maintain accurate, confidential and complete client files including electronic and paper files.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
2 years of experience in mortgage lending, financial counseling/coaching or an equivalent combination of education, employment, and life experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn relevant software
Highly organized with a strong ability to manage priorities and deadlines and ability to manage confidential information
Strong written and verbal communication skills, active listening skill and problem-solving abilities
Commitment to equity and inclusion and social and economic justice
Valid Vermont Driver’s License and personal vehicle
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working at a computer
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time

Salary: $48,000 - $55,000 per year
