About the Role
The Press Operator in the Magnet Prep Department plays a critical role in the manufacturing process at EEC. This position is responsible for aligning and pressing green magnet blocks and producing magnet powder compacts using hydraulic powder compacting presses. The Press Operator ensures that all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards.

General Description:
The purpose of this position is to align and press green magnet blocks (axial) and produce magnet powder compacts using a hydraulic powder compacting press (iso).
Major Functions:
1. Safety safety/minimize risk
a. Wear required PPE.
b. Adhere to required safety precautions.
2. Read, understand and follow work instructions (WI) and process control standards (PCS)
a. Access Paradigm to review and/or print WI or PCS.
b. Recommend revisions and updates to the WI and PCS.
3. Set up machinery
a. Retrieve material, weigh powder and install proper tooling as specified on manufacturing router.
b. Follow Quality control standards prior to running job.
4. Maintain machinery
a. Clean and organize machinery, equipment and work area.
b. Perform required preventative maintenance.
c. Maintain inventory of wax powder for lubrication.
d. Request reorder of consumables as needed.
5. Operate machinery
a. 15 ton press
b. 25 ton presses
c. 30 ton press
d. 40 ton press
e. 100 ton press
f. Lathe and blender
g. Molds
h. Hand press
i. Balloon machine
j. Magnetizer coils
k. Isopress
l. Nitrogen boxes and lines
m. Transverse press
n. Meet established quality standards and production rates.
6. Verify and accurately record data into ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases and control charts.
7. Perform in-process inspection as required.
8. Adhere to EEC Escalation Policy.
