Job overview

This position involves installing mobile two-way radios, emergency lighting, and other equipment in police, fire, ambulance, and commercial vehicles. Person with experience preferred, but we will consider training someone that has car audio installation or automotive accessory installation experience. Applicant must submit to a background check and drug screening. This is a full-time position with competitive salary, benefits & incentive plan.

Position reports daily to Marietta, GA.

Required/Preferred Skill Set

· Technical school in automotive, low voltage, or similar field

· Clear MVR for 7 years

· Drivers’ license for the state of residency.

· ETA – Mobile Communications and Electronics Installer (MCEI)

· One (1) year related experience with 12-Volt automotive equipment installation, low voltage, or similar area

· First Aid/CPR

Essential Functions

Position is ACTIVE with lifting, pushing/pulling, or carrying 75 - 100% of the time of 50 – 100lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Position requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Position is primary preformed in NONCLIMATE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.

Key Responsibilities

· Communicating with customers to determine placement/configuration of equipment to be installed.

· Installation and removal of mobile radio equipment, public safety vehicle equipment, and accessories, to Motorola and industry standards.

· Installation and removal of fixed equipment to Motorola R56 standards

· Follow manufacturer’s instructions and basic wiring diagrams provided with equipment.

· Proper and timely completion of paperwork

· Leave customers vehicles and/or premises "at least" as clean as before work was started.

· Operate test equipment required during the installation of equipment.

· Use measurements obtained with test equipment to verify proper installation.

· Understanding and follow basic installation guidelines.

· Read and comprehend operating manuals and instruct customer on how to use equipment.

· Safe and proper use of basic hand tools.

· Follow established company policies and procedures.
