Lifeguard (Seasonal)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, the lifeguard ensures Cumberland Presbyterian Children's Home residents' safety by preventing and responding to emergencies while utilizing the campus aquatic facility.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 16 years old or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 6 months of related work experience
Current Lifeguard Certification in the State of Texas
Current First Aid / CPR / AED, including child and infant training
Must consent and complete background checks required by TDFPS, including Department of Public Safety, FBI fingerprinting, and DFPS Central Registry
Must work weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
Ability to judge and evaluate evolving dynamics of individuals participating in aquatic activities to immediately assess their capabilities and threats to their safety
Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies
Administers first aid in the event of injury
Rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning
Administer emergency treatment until Emergency Medical Services arrives
Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure that they are safe and usable
Perform maintenance duties to maintain a clean and safe facility
Maintain knowledge of on-site protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports
Performs job-related duties as assigned
