JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision, performs work in the maintenance of city buildings, parks, and other City property. Maintains the cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance of City facilities and property.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and two (2) years of documented experience in building construction, maintenance, and/or renovation.
• Employees are required to pass the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses identified for their position and listed in the most recent version of the NIMS Training Guide within one (1) year of placement into this position.
• Requires a valid Florida driver license.
• Work involves moderate to heavy physical effort in the provision of building maintenance services, sometimes during adverse conditions. Frequent need to get into difficult positions and work at height, endure long periods of standing or walking, and occasional need to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Performs general maintenance of building and grounds to include painting, minor plumbing and electrical, carpentry, flooring, equipment maintenance, etc. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and improve the cost-effectiveness of City operations. Ensures that buildings, equipment and grounds are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition in accordance with health and fire regulations.
