The Connecticut General Assembly is seeking a FT Fiscal Analyst to support state legislators in the formulation and monitoring of state budgets and public policy. Analyzing the fiscal impact of legislative proposals., answering budget related inquiries from legislators and staff, and monitoring state spending and revenues. The analyst is expected to develop expertise in assigned state agencies/topics and be a resource for the legislature. 

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and superior writing skills are necessary. Strong analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative), attention to detail, the ability to work quickly under pressure, and comfort with collaboration are also critical to success. Analysts who thrive here tend to be self-starters. Prior experience in the following areas may be beneficial: (1) the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word; and (2) a budget system or large database. This position may involve shared responsibility for the office's budget system.

Requirements:

BA/BS; strong preference for MA/MPA or other advanced degree with quality experience in fiscal analysis, economics, budgeting, and public policy. Successful candidate's salary commensurate with relevant experience and includes a robust fringe benefit package.
