Status: Open Until FilledThis is a non-sworn, part-time position in the Police Department that reports to the Security Services Unit Sergeant. The employee is responsible for screening individuals entering the court and other adjacent areas, by use of a walk-through metal detector, a belt scanner, and a hand-held scanner.

The employee is responsible for screening individuals entering the court and other adjacent areas, by use of a walk-through metal detector, a belt scanner, and a hand-held scanner.
- Operates walk-through metal detector, belt scanner and hand-held scanner to monitor all persons entering the court area and some areas of city hall.
- Provides security of municipal court area and some areas of city hall by responding to any suspicious behavior by any person entering the areas.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Considerable ability to observe situations and identify suspicious or possibly dangerous persons entering the courtroom or city hall areas.
- Ability to effectively use a walk-through metal detector, belt scanner, and hand-held scanner.
- Ability to recall any pertinent facts and information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to assess situations quickly and make judgments about appropriate handling of problems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.
- Ability to work a flexible weekly schedule.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
