Position: Boyne Senior Center Cook

Pay Range: Part time, no benefits, starting hourly wage: $16.28

Position Summary:
Charlevoix County Commission on Aging is seeking a part-time Boyne Senior Center Cook. This position is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 1:30pm for a total of 25 hours per week. No weekends or evenings, but will need to work Wednesday evenings June through August from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. This position is responsible for the daily meals based in the Boyne Area Senior Center. Routine duties include, assisting with daily meal preparation for congregate and home delivered meals, assisting with meal services such as packaging or serving as needed, and daily cleaning of the kitchen. The ideal candidate needs to love working with, and for seniors, on an independent basis. The ideal candidate would be creative, positive, outgoing, dependable, and flexible.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License
• High School diploma or GED
• Physical ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, transfer items to and from vehicles and/or dining and office facilities

Job Location/ Working Conditions
Based primarily in a climate-controlled building with a senior center, commercial kitchen, and multiple offices. Occasional bending and twisting required. Must be able to occasionally lift and transfer a maximum of 50 pounds at various heights and surfaces. Travel may be required to other facility locations as necessary.
