Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan is Hiring a Commercial Cleaning Technician Near Manhattan, KS
Reports To: Director of Logistics
Division: Operations Status: Part Time, hourly (20-25 hours per week)
Compensation: $15-$17/hr DescriptionResponsible for general cleaning and custodial functions in commercial buildings and performing related duties as assigned. Performs general and specialized cleaning services.
KEY ROLES (essential Job Responsibilities)
- Maintains 2 commercial buildings
- Devise and establish cleaning policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by Club Leadership
- Custodial functions at a large/major site location to include the following at predetermined intervals:
- Cleans classrooms, restrooms, lunchrooms, offices, multipurpose spaces, and related facilities.
- Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes, and polishes concrete, vinyl tile, and wood floors.
- Vacuums and shampoos mats and carpets.
- Dust furniture; empties and cleans trash receptacles.
- Cleans walls, furniture, windows, woodwork, chalkboards, lockers, and other equipment.
- Cleans door and window glass and drinking fountains.
- Washes, scrubs, and disinfects restrooms.
- Picks up paper and debris; rakes, sweeps, and cleans walkways and entrances.
- Ionizes high touch surfaces.
- Ensures facilities remain physically secure, by keeping entry points, and secure rooms locked and unavailable
- Operates cleaning equipment such as vacuum, floor stripper, floor cleaning and polishing machines, Ionizer, etc.
- Informs supervisor of potential problems with custodial concerns in a timely manner.
- Performs work during and after regular hours, any day of the week, including holidays as needed. Set schedule will be established upon hire.
- Other duties as assigned
- Work closely with the Directors of Programs, Unit Directors and direct supervisor to evaluate the ongoing needs and complete tasks.
- Works closely with the supply ordering team to ensure that appropriate cleaning supplies are available.
- Develop relationships with outside vendors who may do contract work on an as needed basis.
- Provide documentation as needed alongside the Director of Logistics, to outside parties such the Boys & Girls Club National Safety Team, or Child Care Licensing.
- High School diploma or GED (required)
- Demonstrated ability in cleaning commercial buildings
- Valid State Drivers License
- Training and/or use of common office equipment
- Accurate & efficient skills
- Ability to prioritize deadlines and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer relations skill
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Driver license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
