JOB
Under the direction of the Sergeant of Patrol Services Division the Community Service Officer (CSO) provides support services for the various divisions within the Sheriff's Office. Requires working flexible and varied schedules to meet the needs of the Sheriff's Office and the contracting communities. This position is non-sworn and requires the CSO to work and perform in varying climatic conditions.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

• Enforce local ordinances of the contracting communities relating to animals.• Provide support to the patrol services division.• Educate community members on the care of domestic animals and neighborhood watch programs.• Act as a liaison with contract community leaders and city/township contracted kennels.• May assist in scheduling CSOs into contract communities to fulfill the contractual obligations.• Other duties as assigned.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
All applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, background investigation, psychological evaluation, and pre-placement physical.
