Director of Finance / Controller
Experienced in technology startups and SaaS, the Director of Finance / Controller will be charged with hands-on management of policies, process, and procedures across all finance and accounting areas. This is an outstanding opportunity for a finance executive with operational experience and a proven track record of creative problem-solving and execution in a rapidly-growing organization.
Responsibilities
Advise the CEO, CFO, and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters
Serve as a liaison to the board and audit committee on certain financial topics; effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select Board of Directors and committee meetings
Contribute to the development of Branding Brand’s strategic goals
Oversee the monthly close process, including revenue recognition, culminating in the production of the close binder (financial statements, trial balance, bank recons, balance sheet schedules) for executive review
Oversee and manage the creation of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
Manage banking relationships with current and prospective lenders and comply with monthly reporting requirements
Prepare key financials and KPIs as part of quarterly Board of Directors package
Serve as the main point of contact for the annual financial audit
Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the finance and accounting team
Be able to dive into the details and generate, update or modify financial models and forecasts
Interact with operations teams weekly and monthly to ensure execution of financial targets
Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments
Review and maintain an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures
Participate in ongoing security training and awareness
Qualifications
Business or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in business administration is preferred
CPA preferred
Minimum 5 years experience in a senior management role ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience gained in a high-growth organization
Must be familiar with Software as a Service (SaaS) finance and accounting principles
Highly proficient in Google Workplace, Excel, and Microsoft Office suite
Working experience in NetSuite financial software
Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills
Strong mentoring, coaching experience to a team with diverse levels of expertise
Entrepreneurial team player who can multitask
Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management
Ability to operate at a strategic and tactical level
