Job Title: Interior Designer 2 Department: Building Services Work Location: Gulfport, MS 39501 Position Overview Missouri Power Company is seeking a talented and experienced commercial interior designer to join the Building Services department. The Interior Designer 2 will be based at the company's headquarters in Gulfport, MS, and will play a critical role in developing and implementing design solutions for the corporate offices. This position involves working independently with various stakeholders to create aesthetically pleasing, functional, and cost-effective interior spaces. Key Responsibilities Design and Implementation: Develop comprehensive interior design plans that meet the needs of end users while adhering to company standards and budget constraints. Create detailed design documents, including floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings, and material specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Enscape, and Photoshop. Stakeholder Engagement: Meet independently with all levels of end users, from executives to staff, to gather requirements and present design proposals. Ensure design solutions align with client expectations regarding function, cost, and aesthetics. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all design plans comply with local building codes and regulations, including ADA standards and other relevant guidelines. Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to ensure all designs meet safety and regulatory requirements. Material Selection and Procurement: Source and select appropriate commercial interior design finishes, furniture, and fixtures. Work with procurement teams to obtain materials and furnishings that meet quality and budget specifications. Project Management: Estimate project costs and track expenses to ensure projects stay within budget. Manage project timelines and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of design projects. Collaboration: Collaborate with other trades, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety teams, to develop integrated design solutions. Participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive project execution. Professional Development: Work towards acquiring or maintaining National Council of Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification or equivalent. Stay current with the latest trends, technologies, and practices in commercial interior design. Desired Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit. Desired proficiency in Sketchup, Enscape, and Photoshop. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in commercial interior design. Experience in creating design documents and working with other trades to develop integrated design solutions. Project Management: Strong project management skills, including experience in project estimating and tracking project expenses. Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in local building codes and regulations, including ADA compliance. Certifications: Holding or actively working towards NCIDQ certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
