ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

We believe that talent is equally distributed across Silicon Valley, but opportunity is not, so we are committed to ensuring that socio-economically disadvantaged students have equitable access to the opportunities that will help them thrive in school and beyond. Students benefit from high-quality academic programs, captivating enrichment activities, and access to critical mental health services. With support from our staff, Board, and broader Team BGCP community, we strive to make our community a great place for all kids to grow up.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Future Grads Program is a college success program that equips first-generation students with the non-academic skills they need to overcome obstacles on their way to college graduation. The program began at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) in 2016 and is modeled after the Bright Prospect program in Pomona, CA—which has shown strong results since 2002. Future Grads recently expanded to serve 4 new school sites in Daly City and South San Francisco in 2022 and has continued to grow since.
While our program includes counseling on how to apply, complete financial aid forms and choose the right college, we also develop our students’ social and emotional skills, including how to ask for help, access resources, build support networks and maintain confidence. Future Grads supports its students to and through college graduation.
The College Success Manager will work with the North County high school team to provide the resources, support, tools and navigational skills students need to successfully pursue and complete higher education. The College Success Manager will work with a caseload of high school students to help them with the college application process and play a key role in ensuring seamless implementation of the Future Grads program. This program addresses the need for quality college advising in a community where few parents have historically attended college and where first-generation youth are not receiving the services they need to achieve their postsecondary goals.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is a vibrant, entrepreneurial nonprofit in the heart of Silicon Valley that is committed to making our community a great place for all of our children to grow up. BGCP's vision is for all youth of the Bay Area Peninsula to graduate from high school with a plan for additional post-secondary education or training. Over the past five years, in neighborhoods where less than half the youth graduate from high school, 90% of BGCPs school site members have graduated from high school with a plan. We are doubling high school graduation rates by implementing ...
proven practices in strategic partnership with schools, families, government, corporations, nonprofits and volunteers. While most youth development organizations focus on motivated youth and are selective about whom they serve, BGCP serves all youth. Principals specifically refer their most at-risk students to our programs, and we welcome all youth who reach out to us. We seek to motivate all students to succeed academically.
