With over 50 years of coating application experience, Medicote (a division of BEST Engineered Surface Technologies) offers high-quality surface coatings to medical OEM’s, marine, defense, and industrial application sectors. Constructed in 2010, our spacious new facility in Bristol, RI offers clear and colored anodizing, hard coat anodizing, conversion coating, precision cleaning, engineered coatings including PTFE, plastic bead blasting, sandblasting, pad printing, labeling, packaging, and light assembly. Our state-of-the-art facility and equipment enable us to meet the most diversified applications with ease and in the volumes necessary for any medical device OEM.

In a job-shop environment, our clients require us to deliver quality parts on time from all our metal finishing operations. We are looking for a General Manager to add to our Rhode Island team. As the General Manager, you will manage the operations and functional areas for the Rhode Island facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the operational and functional areas of our Teknicote and Medicote divisions including direct responsibility for Profit & Loss.
• Continuous review of activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans per current conditions.
• Coordinate, train, develop, and focus on resources to develop new business activities and implement new technologies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance to ensure Teknicote and Medicote operate safely and effectively.
• Implement operational disciplines such as: ISO, AS, and NADCAP as appropriate.
• Drive BEST’s strategic objectives by creating a dynamic work culture and continuous improvement in every aspect of safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
• Work with appropriate individuals to plan business objectives, coordinate functions and operations between departments, and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
• Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance.
• Support and participate in management review meetings per ISO requirements.
• Behave responsibly and ethically in all matters, presenting a high level of authenticity and engagement.
• All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of job shop management experience (prior experience in a surface finishing environment preferred)
• The ability to behave responsibly and ethically in all matters.
