Position Summary:

As a Billing & Accounting Specialist at Ascend Healthcare, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. You will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, with a particular emphasis on healthcare-related transactions. This position requires a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You will provide your knowledge in support of highly detailed, and sometimes complex, challenges as the organization grows. Ascend is a fast-paced environment, so partnering with Ascend team members across the organization will be critical. Key Areas of Ownership:

• Generate customer invoices, including review of mental healthcare billing codes.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end general accounting books close 
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software and tools.
• Participate in the development and implementation of financial, processes policies and procedures.
• Provide support for annual audit.
• Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accurate coding and timely pay.

• Coordination and organization of corporate legal documentation, including but not limited to: customer contracts, vendor contracts, W-9 forms, securities and financing contracts, etc.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely in coordination with Human Resources

You should bring...

• Prior experience in healthcare billing or related role is required.
• Prior experience with general accounting & payroll is preferred.
• Experience with identifying and implementing process improvements is preferred.
• Experience with multi-state tax reporting is preferred.
• Experience with multi entity accounting, including consolidations and the use of elimination entries, is preferred.

Proficiency Requirements:

• 2-year degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent and solid understanding of GAAP preferred
• 1 year with any major ERP system preferred
• 4 years with Microsoft Excel (highly advanced Excel skills) required.
• 2 years of increasing responsibility in problem solving and data analysis skills (e.g. reporting, reconciliations, analysis and review of financial data entry)

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $50,000-$60,000
