Behavioral Technicians focus on working with children, teens and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Behavior Technicians assist Behavioral Analysts in implementing and monitoring plans that help individuals build skills in coping, communication, socialization, self-help and play. The role involves helping individuals with day-to-day activities and recording their progress.
Behavioral Technicians work one-on-one or with a small group in various settings, such as the individuals home, community or learning center.
Behavioral Technicians receive training to become Registered Behavioral Technicians (RBT) that uses science-based therapy called applied behavioral analysis (ABA). RBT work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.
