POSITION: Firearms Evidence Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Forensics Division, Evidence Unit

Responsibilities:

The Firearms Evidence Coordinator will operate computer systems to enter submitted items in the Sheriff’s Office evidence tracking system. The Coordinator with be accountable for the security and integrity of the evidence room; and responsible for preserving the chain of custody of items submitted. The Coordinator will assist, manage, and facilitate test firing of all ACSO Firearms submitted meeting NIBIN/IBIS criteria. The Coordinator will complete ATF E-traces on all incoming firearms, and assist with ACSO Firearm sales, written court orders for firearm sales, and other related items. The Coordinator will assist in the daily operations of the Evidence Unit.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience will be considered
Previous Class 1 LE Certification – preferred, but not required
Firearm training preferred
Proficient and knowledgeable in different styles and calibers of firearms
Ability to accurately record data and maintain records
