Trevor Day School is seeking a leave replacement Physical Education and Health Teacher for the fall of 2024. This individual will teach various physical education courses in our Upper School that may include fitness training, strength and conditioning, and yoga. In addition, they will teach health classes in our Lower and Middle Schools (Grades 4-8), covering nutrition, human development, mental health, socioemotional wellbeing, and safe lifestyle choices.
Ideal candidates will have experience teaching both physical education and health, engaging students and encouraging participation in both gyms and classrooms. They will have a strong desire to work with a diverse student body and faculty in an open and collaborative environment.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in physical education or health preferred.
- Experience as an Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) or coach is also desirable.
- Knowledge of current health and wellness trends.
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning practices.
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues on lesson planning and innovative curriculum development.
- Experience using technology to enhance classroom learning.
- Proven ability to form strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Growth mindset and passion for learning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, patience, and a sense of humor.
The full-time salary range for this position is $60,000-$100,000. When extending an offer for employment, Trevor Day School bases the salary upon several factors that include (but are not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education, training, key skills, and peer salary equity.
