Role Title: Kids Ministry Director

Reports To: Executive Pastor

Purpose Statement: The Kid’s Ministry Director is the chief architect and leader of the

Kids Ministry for the purpose of helping New Hope Church live out our mission to help

kids find and follow Jesus.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

● Provide vision and overall leadership to New Hope Church’s kid’s ministry (birth - 4th grade), which includes Sunday kids ministry programming, midweek ministry to kids, and other events. This position is focused on leadership of the ministry and not serving in the classroom.

● Develop and lead a comprehensive kid’s ministry strategy that includes event planning and curriculum decisions to effectively help kids find and follow Jesus.

● Responsible for the overall recruitment and leadership development of all Kids Ministry volunteers.

● Serve as the point of leadership for the Kids Ministry Coordinator.

● Be current in and willing to innovate the vision, strategy, tools and techniques of Kids Ministry in order to maximize effectiveness.

● Find avenues to encourage and resource parents in discipling their own children.

● Provide timely, consistent, and appropriate communication to volunteers and families.

● Oversee implementation of the Child and Youth Safety Policy and volunteer background checks for kid’s ministry volunteers.

● In coordinator with the Executive Pastor, manage all Kids Ministry budgeting and financial oversight of the ministry.

Time Commitment: 20-25 hours/ week

● This person needs to be a grace-filled leader who is excellent at recruiting, organizing, and empowering volunteers to make an eternal impact in the lives of children.

● This person needs to be effective as a communicator and team builder.

● This person needs to blend passion and creativity (to see what can be) with the ability to be organized and consistent (to lead what is).

● This person needs to passionately love God and have a calling to ministry to children.

Paid Staff Expectations:

● Be a member of New Hope Church in good standing.

● Annually set goals for self and area of ministry (goals will be reviewed with the Executive Pastor).

● Actively participate in a weekly Sunday worship service (and watch/listen to the sermon online when you are unable to be in the worship service).

● This position has flexibility but must maintain a consistent weekly work schedule. Some remote work is allowed. This position requires a commitment for Sunday and Monday mornings as well as programming activities on Wednesday nights.

● Maintain healthy relationships with the congregation and staff.

● Maintain a healthy and growing relationship with God.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23,920.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
