John Paul II Catholic High School is Hiring a Drumline Director- St. John Paul II Catholic School Near New, TX

Description

St. John Paul II Catholic High School is in search of a drumline group director to run the school's drumline. Ideal candidate will have experience working in music or in percussion, and specifically with the drumline.

The school fields a 12-15 member drumline, that performs at athletic contests (football, volleyball, basketball primarily) and at many school and community events. As the only travelling musical group from the school, the drumline is a valued and important ambassador for the school community. The group is entering their 11th year of entertaining, and has a good foundation on which to build.

The director will lead once weekly long rehearsals with the group after school (2 hours), focusing on technique and skill building, and the development of an 8 to 12 cadence repertoire. The director will attend some or most of the additional practices (as schedule allows). A school faculty/staff member will attend the other rehearsals, and the director will coordinate the travel to and performances at all games, and will communicate with students and parents and administration on a regular basis.
