Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ George T. Baker Aviation Technical College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Avionics Systems Technician Instructor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive technical training classes for students enrolled in our Avionics Systems Technician program.

1. Develop and deliver instructional content on procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment used in constructing, maintaining, or altering avionics systems.
2. Create, update, and maintain detailed daily lesson plans and study guides, ensuring alignment the college's curriculum and policies.
3. Administer and evaluate lab projects, practical demonstrations, and theory exams required for the assigned program of instruction, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including grades, attendance, and other required documentation, in accordance with college policies.
5. Identify students in need of additional support and provide targeted remediation and guidance to foster student success and retention.
6. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of lab equipment and avionics systems, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment, and enforce student compliance with established policies and procedures.
7. Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to continuously improve the program's curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment methods to enhance student learning outcomes.
8. Participate in professional development activities to stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in avionics systems education.

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Preferred FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate or Electronics Technician Certification.
3. Minimum of 6 years of practical experience in avionics systems maintenance.
4. Strong ability to engage and motivate diverse learners.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information and respond to student questions.
6. Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, arithmetic, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, with the ability to apply these concepts to practical situations.
7. Strong problem-solving skills.
8. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow instructions in various forms, including written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
9. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, walk, use hands to lift, handle, or feel, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods.
10. Must be able to reliably commute to Miami, FL 33142, or be willing to relocate before starting work.

We offer a competitive salary range of $59,401 to $95,676 per year credential supplements and additional hourly compensation, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance options, retirement plan options, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
