Job Summary: Working in the meat department keeping the floor stocked and organized with product. To cut meat and related products in the variety, size, quantity and trim as directed by company standards.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Cut and trim all merchandise as directed by company standards.

2. Price and display products in cases as directed by Department Manager.

3. Maintain good housekeeping of work, display and store area.

4. Communicate temperature failure of cases and storage areas to manager in charge.

5. Maintain good customer relations by providing prompt and courteous service.

6. Observe policies and procedures established for the department.

7. Observe all local, state and federal health weights and measures laws.

8. Maintain a neat personal appearance according to the company’s dress code policy.

9. Greet all customers and be observant.

Supplemental Job Functions:

1. Assist in wrapping and packaging.

2. Receive, weigh and breakdown meats and related products.

3. Maintain operating equipment and follow all OSHA regulations.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Ability to read and write to properly tag product.

2. Must have dexterity in hands to enable of the cutting and trimming of meats.

3. Should have at least one year experience as a meat wrapper.

Working Conditions:

1. Regularly exposed to hazardous conditions associated with mechanical and electrical equipment and hazardous chemicals. Hazards are limited when established safety procedures are followed.

2. Exposure to extreme cold while handling frozen and refrigerated meat at a minimum of fifty five percent (55%) over an eight (8) hour schedule and can also go to a maximum of minus fifteen degrees (-15 o’s) below zero up to five percent (5%) of the time.'
