Job Summary |

The Quality Control Line Inspector Technician is responsible for the inspection of each unit that is produced on the line. The inspector needs to ensure the SOPs, standards and quality of our product are met. You will be working with our team to achieve daily production goals, and to provide superior quality, and service, to both internal and external customers. The core focus of Quality Control Line Inspector Technician is to foster a strong relationship with our production team to drive a quality improvement culture.

Essential Functions  | 

• Follow all Safety Practices and Guidelines
• Follow Cardinal Values and Culture of Integrity and Respect
• Inspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectations
• Stand for an extend period of time to inspect units while the line is producing units
• Ability to work in a team environment with multiple IG lines with effective communication.
• May need to operate High Tech Glass Fabrication Equipment to inspect or move units
• Utilize a manipulator should product need to be move for further inspection
• Utilize tools, PPE, and follow SOP to inspect each unit
• Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail
• Completion of routine product and process audits in support of the BEIG quality control plan
• Communicate effectively should quality concerns rise and identify the root cause to prevent further quality problems
• Coordination with other Quality Techs, Production Personnel, and Production Managers on quality-related concerns
• Reliability is crucial to the overall success of the operation
• Responsible for calibration of all equipment and updating the calibration log
• Sensitive information must be kept confidential / maintain professionalism at all times
• Willingness to seek out additional roles and responsibilities within your department
• May need to attend classroom trainings to enhance skills
• Flexibility - may be required to work overtime to meet customer deadlines
• Additional task maybe assigned that are not encompassed in the job description

Workplace Environment |

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objects
• Scheduled work hours will follow production work schedules, with exceptions for training purposes or necessary adjustments to be determined in cooperation with the Quality Manager.
• On-site position.
• Noise level can be high and will vary based on location in the plant

Note: A baseline audiogram will be completed prior to the employee’s orientation

Prior Experience |

• Manufacturing or warehousing experience in quality control preferred but not required
• High School Equivalent, or Related Work Experience
• Constructive and effective communication
• Ability to read a tape measure and convert measurements
• Able to use Micrometer and Caliper /SPC

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications / Moderate computer skills

Physical Ability |

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Climbing/Bend/Reach/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/Pinch

Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30 AM- 3:00 PM

1st Shift: $17.00/hour Potential Monthly Profit Sharing
