Summary Overview: 

Hiring for the fall with a start date of August 12, 2024. Interviews will be conducted late June, early July.

Provides support to the site director in all aspects of a Super Kids Club at the New Horizons club site to ensure that the program meets the educational and spiritual objectives and is managed in accordance with policies and procedures. Assists Club Director to ensure volunteers are appropriately assigned to provide academic assistance to students. Prepares a productive and engaging environment for students and volunteers. Tutors and mentors students.

  • Serves as a positive role model for students that aligns with the mission of New Horizons of SWFL
  • Monitors daily and weekly academic progress of students and communicates with students concerning their progress
  • Monitors student behavior and reports disciplinary concerns to Lead Assistant when appropriate
  • Nurtures and builds strong relationships with students to help students overcome obstacles concerning academics, behavior and personal growth
  • Develops a level of trust with students to be able to mentor and highlight and encourage students’ positive attributes
  • Identifies academic, social, family needs of students in conversation. Meets needs as appropriate or documents them for Lead Assistant/Director to address
  • Assists with Christian lesson each day as needed
• Prepares a productive and engaging environment for students and volunteers
  • Assists Director in pairing students together and assigns them the appropriate volunteers
  • Nurtures and builds strong relationships with volunteers to develop good communication for accountability and long-term commitment to volunteering
  • Prepares materials for students to use; folders, reading books, flash cards and games
  • Ensures nametags are prepared and arranged for volunteers and students when they arrive at the site for easy access
  • Greets students and volunteers and directs them to appropriate study locations
  • Assists volunteers in finding required tutoring materials
  • Monitors all interactions between volunteers and students in accordance with child safety guidelines
  • Set up, assign lessons and monitor computer systems and ensure children’s progress is actively reflected in A system
• Supports Super Teen Club Director
  • Assist Director in maintaining student and volunteer records and produce reports as required. (Attendance by students and volunteers, student grades, etc)
  • Assists with volunteer orientations and appreciation events when appropriate
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff and management matters
  • Assists with four week summer camps as needed at any of the sites
  • Adheres to yearly calendar including events, staff meetings and scheduled trainings
  • Adheres to and ensures volunteers and staff comply with all NH policies and procedures
  • Performs any other duties or responsibilities as requested.
