Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

1. Sell parts over the counter to wholesale and counter retail customers.

2. Handle telephone parts orders called in by wholesale and / or retail accounts.

3. Promote additional parts sales by suggesting related items, seasonal lines, and / or parts specials.

4. Conduct regular phone solicitation on assigned wholesale accounts.

5. Clean, revise, and update parts tickets as directed.

6. Initiate credit applications for new accounts.

7. Check credit request versus status lists

8. Inform customers when parts specially order for them are received.

9. Determine correct parts numbers and "pick" parts for orders received.

10. Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required.

11. Prepare and cost out parts invoices, properly identifying eligible wholesale customers.

12. Help maintain parts stock in orderly condition.

13. Assist with regular parts inventories and the selection of parts for return under parts obsolescence protection program

14. Recommend layout improvements to the Parts Manager

15. Assist in physical re-arrangement of layout.

16. Attend group training sessions as required

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Math and English reading skills sufficient to perform job duties (approximately at 10th grade general education level).
• Works with more than one person and / or task simultaneously, maintaining a cordial and friendly manner at all times without internalizing frustration, anger or pressure.
• Regularly and repeatedly moves a minimum of 50 pounds from ground level to chest height, carries 30 feet and places on shelf or counter.
• Regular, timely and daily attendance; arrives at work by 7 : 00 a.m., or as scheduled.
• Uses personal computer and VDT, accurately and in timely manner, utilizing a variety of programs and systems.
• Experienced with dealership in-house computer system and factory communication system.
• Compares and reads ID numbers up to "18" series accurately (i.e., VIN numbers, Material Safety Data Sheets and driver's license numbers) from a printed and VDT format.
• Records order information (taken by phone or in person) accurately.
• Performs several assignments simultaneously accurately in a courteous and professional manner.
• Able to work in a dusty indoor / outdoor environment with constant noise and repeated distractions.
