We are trying to find a smart and collaborative Facility Maintenance Mechanical Technician to join our Engineering team. You will report to the Facility Maintenance Manager. This person would interact with various departments an subcontractors.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs on facility equipment including boilers, chillers, air compressors, pump systems, and HVAC equipment, such as exchanging belts, gaskets, and filters
• Use the building automation controls to monitor systems and identify problems
• Coordinating the work of the external contractors assigned to repairs, preventive maintenance, or projects
• Provide progress reports to the Facility Maintenance Lead Technician
• Expected to keep up-to-date technically through onsite and offsite training opportunities and to apply new knowledge on the job
• Rotates coverage of carrying the on-call phone with other team members to provide 24/7 support of the facility
• Keeps the Lead Technician informed of any emergency on-call issues as they arise and informs the Facility Maintenance Manager if the Lead Technician is not available
• Coordination of activities and management of your own time and the time of others to achieve daily goals where many high priorities are being worked on simultaneously
• Direct contracted resources needed to complete assigned projects
• Familiarity with building and grounds technical drawings
• Use of hand / power tools and measuring devices
• Proficient in using computers and applications, including Microsoft Office, as needed for reporting and communicating
• Expected to be on-site at scheduled work times, according to the inclement weather policy, to prepare and make facility safe for workforce arrival before their scheduled starting time
• Works primarily day shift hours, with flexibility to work whenever needed, including occasional weekends and holidays
• Minimum domestic travel for training required

Job Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant facility maintenance experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment is required.
• Associate in related studies or completion of a DOL approved apprenticeship program or equivalent training or experience will be considered
• The use of equipment, tools, and mechanical devices.
• General building and construction knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools for facility maintenance-related work.
• Competent math skills and use of measuring tools.
• Knowledge of regulations concerning OSHA standards. Training classes provided by Blum.
