The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, directing, and executing scheduling activities for maximum performance of projects. Other duties include the development of cost-effective measures with the aim of achieving exceptional business practices in the building process.
Job Description
Work with all customers, suppliers, and field personnel to identify capacity and future material needs to order or schedule materials to be delivered to the job site as needed.
Analyze construction schedules and recommend workarounds; create schedule improvement ideas
Advise Project Managers of changes to orders with schedule impacts
Centrally schedule suppliers’ orders and ensure orders are received when scheduled
Develop, report, and manage data for assigned projects
Fast track any POs in-house and work with Area Managers directly as an in-house point of contact for any adjustments with collaboration from Purchase Order Admins and Estimating departments.
Create and maintain scheduling processes and ensure project schedule accuracy; adapt and evolve as necessary to create solutions.
Identify new potential suppliers and work with existing suppliers to increase capacity and decrease material lead times.
Analyze capacity/allocations (projected vs actual) and vendor logistics.
Communicate schedule status on a regular basis via formal and informal meetings and reports.
Maintain delay reporting to identify areas of opportunity per supplier & region.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports for internal management.
Centrally schedule for block, precast, lumber, and other essential materials when necessary
Manage EPO and material credit processes for centrally scheduled materials.
Preferred Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Residential construction background with process experience.
Time management mindset which requires strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Incorporate a balance of urgency and quality into all tasks and directives.
Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
Natural process improvement-oriented mindset.
Logistics, scheduling, or reporting experience preferred.
Prior construction management experience preferred.
