Job Summary

The Quality Control Specialist is a vital resource who ensures the highest quality product for our customers. They collaborate with production teams to maintain quality-assurance processes at the machine, test products, analyze data, and verify product quality throughout development and manufacturing. They also play a key role in establishing a culture of quality within the organization. Their responsibilities encompass product quality verification, support for special quality projects, and broadening the presence of Quality Control across all areas of the organization.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration and investigation of quality issues (ex. color variations, surface imperfections, thickness, adhesion properties, and release liner performance), including analyzing root causes, identifying solutions, and implementing corrective actions in the QC Lab and the Production work floor.
  • Communicate inspection and test results to Management team.
  • Generate and organize proper quality documentation as required by SOPs.
  • Conduct retests of materials using Nilpeter, lab stamping equipment, and manage special project requests.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives and manage stamping lab requests.
  • Contribute to SOP creation and implementation, and provide CCR database assistance to ensure corrective actions are followed through.
  • Support safety, quality, and production by assisting in the investigation of quality issues and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • To ensure efficient coverage during peak times or unforeseen absences, you may be required to learn and perform some aspects of other Quality Control Specialists' tasks.
  • Other Duties as required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communication: Collaborate clearly with integrated team/department to ensure consist a workflow. Ability to provide clear written Communication of inspection.
  • Math skills: Utilize basic math skills for tasks like interpreting production specifications
  • Quality control: Possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to distinguish colors precisely to conduct thorough quality inspections. Good understanding of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) concepts.
  • Safety compliance: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to respirator requirements as per OSHA standards.
  • Technical skills: Possess basic computer skills to operate production related software and maintain digital records.
  • Continuous improvement: Maintain a process optimization mindset.

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing Quality Control, or an equivalent mix of education and experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and data collection techniques
  • Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement
  • Basic understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Familiarity with SAP/Microsoft Office.
