West Fargo Park District is Hiring an Adult and Youth Sports Positions (2024 Spring/Summer) Near Fargo, ND
ADULT VOLLEYBALL OFFICIAL(STILL LOOKING FOR OFFICIALS IF YOU ARE AVAILABLE)- SPRING, SUMMER, FALLApplicants must have played volleyball in the past or are currently playing or refereeing and are familiar with high school rules and USA Volleyball standards of play. Applicants will be required to interact with the public on an on-going basis in the role of a referee (players and public), officiate games in a fair manner, demonstrates extensive knowledge of the rules, and interacts with players, league coordinator, and spectators in a respectful and cooperative manner. Officials will work closely with the league coordinator to ensure player and spectator satisfaction and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and league coordinator. Must be able to work Wednesday evenings from 7:00-10:00 pm and Sunday evenings from 4-7pm from August 7-end of October. Flexible hours and weeks. Tournaments available to officiate on April 13 & 14, September 28 & 29, October 12 & 13 and January 11 & 12. Must be 18 and older to apply.
Pay $25 per match.SKATING INSTRUCTOR (HOCKEY & FIGURE SKATING INSTRUCTORS NEEDED) - YOUTH - JUNE/JULY/AUGUST/WINTER- will hire in the middle of seasonApplicants should have previous ice-skating experience and feel comfortable leading/assisting classes for youth ages 3-Adult. This includes supervising participants on the ice, demonstrating skating skills, assisting with planning lessons as needed, and evaluating participants’ skills. Instructors will be responsible for providing a safe and fun environment that promotes the sport. WFPD follows the Learn to Skate USA program. Will need to complete the Learn to Skate Certification online once hired and WFPD will pay for this certification. (Will need to renew yearly) June 4-August 15 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00-7:30pm. September 3-March 7 on Wednesdays from 5:00-7:30pm and Saturdays from 8:30-10:30am. Hours, days & seasons are flexible. Also looking for subs. Lessons are at Veterans Memorial Arena, 1201 7th Ave E West Fargo.
Pay scale $16.00-20.00 per hour.YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUE COACH - JULY EVENINGSMust play or have knowledge of soccer and experience working with youth. Coaches will lead the drills and games for youth ages 4-7 at the West Fargo Soccer Complex. Must be at least 16 years of age. See program dates/times below.
Pay $15-17 per hourHours: Mondays & Wednesdays, July 8th-19th, 5-7pm
