POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality of all onsite operations on concrete construction projects. This role involves performing detailed inspections, coordinating with construction teams, and maintaining compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct thorough inspections of concrete reinforcing steel, embedded items, concrete formwork, and concrete placements alongside special and government inspectors.
· Monitor the installation processes to verify adherence to design requirements and quality standards.
· Inspect and verify the placement, alignment, and securing of concrete reinforcing steel and embedded components before concrete placements.
· Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities.
· Prepare and submit daily and daily quality control reports.
· Document any non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions with the construction team.
· Monitor field testing of materials, such as concrete sampling and compression tests, complete by special inspectors.
· Review and analyze test results to ensure materials meet project specifications.
· Ensure compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and project-specific requirements.
· Stay updated with industry standards, such as ACI (American Concrete Institute)) guidelines.
· Assist in the development and implementation of quality control plans and procedures.
· Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address quality issues and ensure seamless workflow.
· Provide guidance and training to construction personnel on quality control practices and standards.
· Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on quality-related matters.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
:
· High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction quality control or concrete construction testing and inspections.
· Experience with commercial and/or government concrete construction projects is required.
· Certification from relevant bodies such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) is preferred.
· Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites.
· CQM Certification highly desirable
· Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods related to concrete construction.
· Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in using quality control and inspection tools and software.
o Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
o Capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
o Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
