About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resource Generalist to join our team at our East Brunswick, NJ office. As the HR Generalist, you will be responsible for a wide range of human resources activities, including employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. This role requires a well-rounded HR professional who can handle multiple tasks and provide strategic support to the HR department and overall organization. We are looking for someone who can work both collaboratively and autonomously, highly organized, and detail oriented. The ideal candidate will be extremely reliable, possess a positive and proactive attitude, and have strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Coordinate and execute a variety of human resource activities for the company.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to organize quarterly and annual new hire presentations and LS Power Learn programs.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and distributing human resource policies.
  • Stay informed about state and federal employment regulations.
  • Review ADP data input and serve as the database administrator.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and coordinate onboarding processes.
  • Provide second-tier escalation support for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Support management in problem-solving, project planning, and achieving goals and objectives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and issues, providing guidance and resolution.
  • Foster a positive work environment and maintain effective communication with employees.
  • Review HR Action Forms, including those for salary adjustments, new hires, and terminations.
  • Assist the HR Director in ensuring compliance with state and federal HR regulations.
  • Oversee training programs to ensure employees complete mandatory harassment training and compliance programs.
  • Assist with the administration of the 401(k) and profit-sharing plans.
  • Work with the Benefits Manager and HR Director to oversee the administration and coordination of all company welfare benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Participate in the interview process as needed.
  • Provide support of FMLA and company leave of absence processes and paperwork in line with company policy and compliance requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate state disability programs and the company's salary continuation benefits.
  • Maintain the company intranet and internal communications on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist the HR Director in conducting annual HR audits for compliance and integrity, including I-9 and personnel file audits.
  • Perform additional job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR generalist role or similar position.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.
  • Are proficient in HRIS and MS Office applications. Specifically with ADP workforce now.

Ideally you will also have ...

  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
  • Experience with employee relations and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and procedures.
