Seaweed is Hiring a Cultivation Supervisor Near Portland, ME

About Us:

SeaWeed Co. has an immediate opening for a Cultivation Supervisor at our cultivation facility in Portland. SeaWeed Co. is known for its quality and attention to detail in an organized and compliant work environment. We value having a diverse and collaborative team. This is not an entry level position.

Job Description:

This position reports to the Cultivation Manager and is responsible for all aspects of daily

cultivation duties from facility cleanliness to plant care and processing following the plant

through its life cycle from vegetation through harvest and curing or packaging for extraction. The

Cultivation Supervisor position will also be responsible for more administrative duties to further

assist the Cultivation department including but not limited to creating plant tags, packages,

manifests, data logging, and scheduling. As well as more detailed cultivation projects such as

genetic selections, preparing mother plants for cloning and leading harvests and resets.

Core Duties

● Cultivation Duties: adhering to cultivation SOPs including but not limited to: propagation,

mother maintenance, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, pest management, cleaning,

drying/curing and transferring products.

● Assist cultivation manager with planning and executing propagation of clones for

batches.

● Nursery room focus. The ideal candidate for this position can demonstrate the ability of

preparing mother stock for cloning and keeping fresh mothers in rotation. There will also

be regular maintenance of mothers and clones in the position.

● Lead Cleaning and sanitizing/resetting of grow rooms, equipment, tools in accordance

with SOPs post harvest.

● Processing, trimming and packaging as needed. Weighing final packages, creating Metrc

tags and manifesting products from one location to another.

● Data entry into a system of record. Daily use of excel to record and track data across all

stages of cultivation. Record data for all procedures using computer systems and hard

copy logs,

● Maintaining equipment organization, maintenance and scheduling

● Attention to state and local compliance issues.

● Understand and follow all safety protocols.

● Storing supplies and equipment, disposal of waste according to SOPs, and keeping

cultivation rooms, storerooms, and working areas clean.

Desired Skills:

● Demonstrated tenure in the cannabis industry with knowledge and experience within the

Adult Use sector of Cannabis. Metrc experience is a must

● Experience/Knowledge and demonstrable use of climate controls i.e. Agrowtek,

TrolMaster, Growlink or other

● Experience and success utilizing data collection technologies i.e Aroya, Growlink or other

● Proven high level of success with cloning and maintaining 2000 plants

● Knowledge of irrigation strategies and plant training techniques

● Ability to work independently on projects while also being flexible to assist where most

needed.

● High level of understanding of cross contamination protocol

● Knowledge of pest and pathogen management through proper IPM tactics

● High standard for cleanliness and organization.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

● Ability to collaborate well with a team.

● Punctuality, ability to work to a schedule.

● Read, follow and help adapt manuals for Standard Operating Procedures.

● Critical thinking and communication skills.

● Ability to use technology effectively in the cultivation space.Ability to use email and digital

scheduling software. Must diligently use all aspects of technology. Email, digital tools,

plant tools, etc will all be used on a daily basis.

● There will be an emphasis on administrative aspects of the job. Including but not limited

to assisting with scheduling, helping to develop weekly cultivation plans, assisting with

strain selection from batch to batch, communication within the rest of the departments of

the company and 3rd party vendors.

● Post Harvest experience is a must: Harvesting, Drying, Trimming, Curing, Packaging,

and product transfer.

● Must have a keen eye for quality and maintaining quality through all aspects of

cultivation.

Qualifications

● 2 years of using Aroya or other cultivation software

● 2 years in commercial agriculture

● 2 years cultivating cannabis in the legal market

● College background in horticulture, agriculture, or equivalent field of study is a plus

● Must be 21 years of age or older pursuant to Maine State Law..

● Must currently have, or be able to acquire, a state of Maine Individual Identification Card.

This requires an extensive background check conducted on an annual basis, pursuant to

Maine State Law.

● Cannot be involved in cannabis cultivation at home or at another location other than for

this role with SeaWeed Co.

● Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements

● Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.

● Must be able to lift over 100lbs with assistance.

● Ability to work on one’s feet for 8 hours in a warehouse environment.

● Ability to stand and work on a ladder for extended periods of time.

● Ability to use a pallet jack.

● Ability to work with hands overhead for extended periods of time.

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: $20-$23 per hour
