Primary PurposeTo serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to conduct evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services; conduct and facilitate ARD meetings in accordance with federal and state procedures and regulations.

Primary PurposeTo serve as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to conduct evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services; conduct and facilitate ARD meetings in accordance with federal and state procedures and regulations.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:
- Certified by SBEC as an Educational Diagnostician
- Knowledge, practice, and interpretation of common assessment tools used in the determination of special education disability conditions. Knowledge and practice in the areas of academic instruction and strategies, data-based decision making, and legal, ethical, and professional practices. At least one year experience or practicum in a school setting, preferred.
- Conduct Full Individual Evaluations as part of the multidisciplinary evaluation team to identify students who may be eligible for special education services
- Utilize the District Special Education Software IEP program to keep accurate ARD information on all special education students
- Work collaboratively with campus administration and teacher of record to ensure State Assessment requirements are fulfilled and current State Assessment information is available for appropriate personnel
- Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop the IEP through the ARD committee process for each student assigned
- Facilitate and conduct the ARD committee meetings on a regular basis using the District Special Education Software IEP program
- Monitor implementation of the IEP/ARD and support service recommendations
- Assist special education teachers in developing appropriate IEPs for their students
- Collaborate with Intervention Assistance Teams (IAT) Chair as appropriate
- Collaborate, assist, and coordinate:
- Implementation of effective instructional strategies and modifications
- Appropriate instructional strategies/activities
- Use of learning strategies, materials, and equipment
- With regular education classroom teacher to modify regular curriculum or differentiate instruction
- Consult district and outside resource people regarding education, social, medical, and personal needs of students
- Establish and maintain professional communication with parents, students, principals, teachers, team leaders and supervisor
- Provide ongoing information to parents regarding Transition services
- Maintain a professional relationships with supervisor, team leaders, colleagues, students, parents, and community members
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
- Participation in staff development activities to improve job-related skills
- Maintain understanding of and comply with federal, state, district, department and school procedures, regulations, and policies for the special education process
- Conduct Full Individual Evaluations as part of the multidisciplinary evaluation team to identify students who may be eligible for special education services, facilitate/conduct ARD committee meetings using the District Special Education Software IEP program, and participate in departmental projects pertaining to policies, procedures, and/or trainings during the summer.
