3-6 Month Contract to Hire
Purpose:
RareMed is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the integrity, reliability, secure deployment, and operation of our cloud infrastructure.
As a team member, you will be tasked with understanding, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure supporting the RareMed corporate environment and the RareMed SaaS application. You will be responsible for diagnosing any configuration issues within these systems in coordination with stakeholders. In addition, you will be a primary point of contact for stakeholders who have service requests and technical problems with their automated deployments, servers, networks, and other infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Secure provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of version control systems, build tools and continuous integration tools
Designing, building, and maintaining end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using the latest web technologies
Working with application teams to build, maintain, secure, and document our development, testing, staging, and production environments
Creating and maintaining scripts and templates necessary for the consistent creation of secure resources
Providing support and advice for configuration changes to existing infrastructure
Promoting DevOps best practices to continue improving software delivery and release processes in a secure manner
Analyzing the functionality and interoperability between infrastructure resources
Diagnosing and solving environment-specific bugs
Monitoring and responding to incidents impacting the RareMed production applications
Developing automation solutions for ‘self-healing’ resources in these environments
Testing and evaluating new technologies
Working with 3rd party vendor support such as Microsoft
Taking responsibility for patching the staging and production Windows Server environments
Handling bugs and documenting solutions where the underlying infrastructure requires remediation
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, preferably Azure
At least 5 years of experience in professional software development
Solid experience (5 years) with infrastructure as code, ideally using Terraform
Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins
Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and YAML
Experience with log and crash dump analysis
Demonstrated capability in deploying and managing serverless functions
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
