Inspire Kids is a special education preschool serving children with a variety of developmental and physical challenges. Our staff work together to cultivate a child's adaptive, cognitive, communication, social and daily living skills.

The School Nurse provides health services for students and acts as an advocate, liaison and consultant on health related issues for students and their families. The School Nurse coordinates the School Health Program through communication and collaboration with school staff, parents, students and community resources.

Responsibilities:

• Protect and maintain students’ health by providing professional nursing services, including student assessment, administration of medications and treatments, and care for student illness and accidents.
• Facilitate NYS mandated immunization and communicable disease control requirements.
• Identify and assess students’ health needs, implement services, and evaluate plans of care which impact student learning and achievement or safety.
• Identify and report school building safety or environmental issues with impact student or staff health to the building administrator or to the Safety Committee

Requirements:

• New York State License as a Registered Professional Nurse, with current registration to practice.
• Experience in school nursing, or pediatric, community or public health nursing.
• Current certification in CPR
• Weekly coverage of 2 sites
• Strong verbal and written language skills, and demonstrated ability to work well within a team

This is a full time school year position including a six week summer session.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
