Franklin West Supervisory Union is Hiring a Georgia Middle School Athletic Director .2FTE Near Saint Albans, VT

Georgia Elementary Middle School recognizes the value and place that athletics adds to our students learning. We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and confident Athletic Director with a passion for working with our 5th through 8th grade students, parents, coaches and school staff. The Athletic Director is responsible for the direction and management of all grade 5 through grade 8 athletic programs at the school. This person must have both a passion for the student athletic experience and strong communication and organizational skills.
The Athletic Director sets the tone for exemplary sportsmanship, good health, and the spirit of teamwork. The Athletic Director reports to the Middle School Principal.The next Georgia Middle School Athletic Director will: -Use an equity lens to approach and examine all of their work with a strong belief in what is possible.-Communicate effectively to a variety of people: parents, school staff, principal, area athletic directors, and referees.-Be devoted to maximizing the student experience in athletics at GEMS.-Supervises the district's athletic facilities, oversees the scheduling including coordinating practices and athletic events, and disseminates information as needed regarding the times and places athletic events.-Utilize organization and analytic skills to plan and problem solve the needs of our athletics programs, coaches, athletes and parents. -Assists in ensuring that all applicable laws and regulations relating to athletics are applied and followed, including Title IX and other federal laws and regulations, state laws and regulations, and VPA Middle School Athletics Policies.-Be experienced and adept at building and sustaining the school-parent partnership.-Leads the recruitment, selection, supervision and evaluation of all athletic coaches.-Demonstrate a passion for excellence and a commitment to good sportsmanship and highest character in coaches and students alike-Have a sense of humor-Maintains inventory and control of uniforms, supplies and equipment.Experience in working in an educational setting is preferred.The search to fill this position will begin immediately and will begin at the time of hire.
