TYPE: Regular/Full-time
LOCATION: Kaw City, OK
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate should have either a degree in Construction Management and three to five years’ experience or the equivalent in experience and education in a related field. Successful candidate must possess supervisory skills and the ability to read blueprints, write reports and act as a liaison among government entities. Demonstrated budgeting and supervisory experience. Knowledge and understanding of Tribal Governments and Natural Resource issues. Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, policies and procedures relative to the management of Natural Resources, Transportation and the environment. Oversee Emergency Operation Plans, Emergency Action Plans, Standard Operation Plans, and Continuity of Operations Plans in respect to Federal Standards. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement the Kaw Nation Transportation plan in multiples States and Counties.
- Directly supervises employees of the Environmental Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
- Analyzes reports to evaluate program effectiveness and budgetary needs for Multiple Departs including Transportation, EPA, Land management, and Emergency Management.
- Keep up to date with all governing ordinances and regulations as they relate to Tribal Transportation.
- Develop policies and procedures that lead to the efficient and effective administration of the departments.
- Show an ability to work in a group setting and be able to communicate effectively with other jurisdictions concerning roads plans.
- Show an ability to utilize project management best practices.
- Ability to work with all tribal directors and third-party specialists.
- Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the immediate/controlling supervisor.
All new hires will be required by the Kaw Nation to submit to a pre employment drug screen and background check. Failure to pass the drug screen or the background check will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment.

- Four (4) hours of Annual Leave begins accruing with the first paycheck and each full check during employment. As the employee’s length of service increases the 4 hours accrued increases to 6 (after 3 years), 8 (after 10 years), and 10 (after 15 years) hours per paycheck.
- Four (4) hours of Sick Leave begins accruing with the first paycheck and each full check during employment. This amount remains the same throughout employment.
