Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate veterinarian to join our team. You will provide medical care and treatment to a variety of animals, ensuring their health and well-being. Your compassion and dedication will contribute to the overall success of our veterinary practice.
Duties:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose and treat illnesses or injuries
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, including spaying/neutering, tumor removals, and dental procedures
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments to animals as necessary
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and disease prevention
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide comprehensive care to animals
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and attend continuing education courses as required
Experience:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Previous experience working as a Veterinarian preferred but not required
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine, including animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology and diagnostic procedures
- Excellent animal handling skills with the ability to calm anxious or aggressive animals
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and techniques
- Familiarity with dog training methods and techniques
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and other basic medical procedures
- Experience in veterinary critical care is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Proficiency in practice management software for record keeping
We offer competitive compensation based on experience. Compensation is negotiable and can include either pro-sal (no negative accrual) or hourly wages.
